How do I retrieve the payout amount for a whole month of sales in bulk when payout timing differs per order?

Shopify groups settled transactions into payouts by settlement date, not order date, so a month of orders never maps to a single deposit. In Shopify admin, open Finances then Payouts and filter by date range to pull every payout that landed in the month, each already net of fees, refunds, and adjustments. Export that list for the month's true cash total. Tying those payouts back to the specific orders that generated them is where native reporting stops.

Shopify's own answer to the per-order timing problem is the payout reference: each order in the Finances reports carries the payout ID it settled into.
