This entry addresses whether Shopify can surface which other products share an order with a single chosen product. Shopify's native reporting stops at per-product sales figures and doesn't cross-reference order contents against each other. Report Pundit answers this through a custom field that flags qualifying orders and surfaces the companion products found in them.
How can I see which other products were purchased alongside one specific product?
Official answer
Shopify has no built-in report for this; its default reports show sales per product, not what else was in the same order. Report Pundit fills that gap with a custom field that isolates orders containing your chosen product plus at least one other item, then lists those other products.
Shopify's product and order reports track things like units sold and revenue per product, but none of them cross-reference an order's other line items against a product you pick. Shopify has confirmed directly through its own support channels that no native report exists for viewing what's commonly purchased alongside a given product, and recommends third-party apps for it. The closest native workaround is exporting orders as a CSV and manually checking line items order by order, which isn't practical past a handful of orders.
Report Pundit handles this through a Sales & Orders report built around order details (order number, order date), product details (product title, SKU, variant), and sales details (quantity, net sales). Because the underlying condition is compound (must contain the chosen product, must contain at least one other product, and must exclude orders where the chosen product is the only item), it isn't a standard one-click filter. Report Pundit configures it as a custom field that checks each order for the target product and for the presence of other items, then filters the report down to only the orders that qualify. What's left is a clean list of every other product that has shared an order with the one you picked, at the SKU and variant level, not just a product name pairing.
Grouping the filtered results by product turns this from an order list into a ranked view of which items most often accompany the chosen product, which is the more useful form for deciding on bundles, cross-sell placement, or "customers also bought" style promotions.
For the catalog-wide pairing view instead of one product, the Product Combination report guide covers that. Report Pundit's support team sets this up as part of building the report.
