Is it possible to schedule a Shopify payout report to send daily after the payout is deposited?

QUICK ANSWER

The question is whether a merchant can get a Shopify payout (deposit) report automatically every day, timed to arrive after the money is sent. Shopify only offers manual viewing and CSV export of payouts. Report Pundit can schedule the Shopify Payout Report daily and filter it to payouts marked Paid. The delivery runs at a set time each day, not at the exact moment of deposit.

Official answer

Shopify cannot schedule payout reports natively, so a daily send after deposit needs a reporting app. Report Pundit can run the Shopify Payout Report every day at a set time, filter to payouts marked Paid, and deliver the file to email or Google Drive.

What Shopify offers for payouts

The Payouts page (Finance > Payouts) lists each payout with its status. Paid means the payout was sent to your bank. You can open a payout and export its transactions to CSV, or export all transactions for a chosen range from Settings > Payments. Under Analytics > Reports > Finances, the Shopify Payments activity report shows how funds moved through your Shopify Payments balance, including fees, reserves, and payouts.

Why Shopify cannot schedule it

  • Exports are manual. Someone has to open Finance, pick the payout, and click Export every time. Shopify Community replies indicate there is no built-in way to download reports automatically on a recurring basis.
  • There is nowhere to send the file. Shopify reports have no setting to email an accountant or save to a shared folder.
  • Nothing waits for the deposit. A payout moves through statuses such as scheduled, paid, failed, and canceled. Shopify’s report exports have no option that holds back until a payout reaches Paid, so a report pulled too early can miss it.

How Report Pundit handles it

The Shopify Payout Report is a ready-made report with these columns: Payout Date, Payout Status, Payout Id, Charges gross amount, Refunds gross amount, Adjustments gross amount, Charges fee amount, and Payout Amount. The setup works in three parts:

  1. Add the condition. Filter Payout Status to Paid, so only payouts that have reached the bank appear.
  2. Pick the window. Use Yesterday to report each completed payout day once, or Today if the schedule runs late enough that deposits have already landed.
  3. Set the schedule. Create a daily schedule at a time after deposits usually land in the store’s timezone, then choose the destination (email, Google Drive, and other connected accounts) and recipients, such as an accountant or bookkeeper.

Because the Paid filter sits inside the report, a payout that is still scheduled or in transit is left out of that run. It appears in a later run only if the date range still covers its payout date, so Yesterday is the safer window when payouts often turn Paid after the daily run. The schedule runs at the set time each day, not at the exact minute of deposit. Stores on weekly or monthly payout schedules have no payouts to show on days without one. For transaction-level detail, the Shopify Payment Transaction Export also includes Payout Status and Payout Date, so the same Paid condition applies.
