A merchant wants total fulfilled quantity per product, filtered by one tag, measured from each product's creation date rather than order date. Shopify's tag filtering is limited to the Products and Inventory pages and doesn't reach Analytics reports, so natively this needs a manual CSV export and spreadsheet sum. The entry shows how to get tag, fulfilled quantity, and product creation date into a single report instead.
Official answer
Not as a single native report. Shopify lets you filter products by tag on the Products page, but Analytics reports can't combine a tag filter with fulfilled quantity, and none of Shopify's reports run on a product's creation date. Getting this natively means exporting and totaling fulfillment data by hand.
Shopify's own tag documentation confirms that filtering by tag is scoped to the Products and Inventory pages, not to order or fulfillment reports, and merchants have been asking for product tag filtering inside Shopify Analytics for years without it landing there. The closest native workaround is exporting orders filtered to fulfilled or partially fulfilled status as a CSV, then sorting by product and summing quantities by hand against your tagged product list. Even that workaround doesn't give a true lifetime number, since Shopify has no way to start the count from a product's creation date instead of an order date.
Where a store needs the tag, the fulfilled quantity from the product created date , Report Pundit closes that specific gap. Start from the Products by Tags pre-made report, which already includes Tags, Product Title, and SKU. Then:
- Add the product created date as a column.
- Add a lifetime fulfilled quantity field. This is a custom field the Report Pundit support team sets up, calculated from each product's created date forward.
- Add fulfillment status from the fulfillment fields.
- Filter Tags to the one tag you want to review.
Each row then shows the product, its tag, when it was created, and every unit it has fulfilled since launch.
Running the report on product created date
The same report can be set to run on the product created date instead of the order date. The date range then decides which products appear, not which orders are counted. For example, a candle store that tags its seasonal range "Holiday Collection" can set the range to October 1 to December 31, 2025. The report lists only the Holiday Collection products launched in that quarter, each with its full lifetime fulfilled quantity through today. That makes it easy to compare how last season's launches performed over their whole life, not just in the weeks they were new.
One nuance worth knowing: if a tagged product has multiple variants, fulfilled quantity totals across all of them unless variant title is also added as a column to see the split.
