Can I compare international (Markets) prices with default prices in a Shopify report?

QUICK ANSWER

Not natively. Shopify shows Markets prices one market at a time under Products > View as, and its catalog CSV export lists fixed prices without the default price beside them. No built-in report compares every market’s price with the default price side by side.

What Shopify offers for checking market prices

Market prices in Shopify are controlled through catalogs. A catalog is a set of products with optional custom pricing that is assigned to a market. By default, every product is available in every market at the store’s default price. A catalog can then change that price in two ways: a percentage adjustment applied to the whole catalog, or a fixed price set for an individual product or variant. A manually set price overrides the catalog-wide adjustment.

To check what a market is showing, go to Products, select View as, and choose a market. Prices appear in that market’s currency, a Catalogs column shows which catalogs include each product, and products left out of the catalog are marked Unpublished. Clicking a price explains how it was calculated. This works well for confirming one market. Checking another market means switching the selection and reading the list again.

To get prices into a spreadsheet, go to Markets > Catalogs, select the catalog, and choose Export > Export CSV. Shopify emails the file when it is ready. The columns are Catalog Title, SKU, Handle, Fixed Price, Compare At, and Published. Only products with fixed prices are included, so products priced purely by a percentage adjustment do not appear.

Shopify’s report pages (Analytics > Reports) cover areas such as sales, acquisition, and inventory, and custom explorations are available on all plans. The Help Center pages for reports and custom reports do not describe any Markets, catalog, or price list fields.

Why a side-by-side comparison is hard in Shopify

This is less a missing feature than a result of how Markets pricing is built.

  1. Market prices come from catalog rules. Each market price is either calculated from the default variant price (an adjustment) or set directly (a fixed price), so there is no single price field that sits next to the default price.
  2. The price types follow different rules. According to Shopify’s developer documentation, adjusted (relative) prices are returned in the store currency by the APIs. Rounding and exchange-rate conversion are applied only in the online store and checkout. Fixed prices are defined in the catalog’s own currency, and conversion and rounding do not apply to them. A default price and a market price can therefore be calculated in different ways.
  3. More than one catalog can apply. When a market inherits catalogs, the more specific price is used, and if neither catalog is more specific, the lower price is shown. The price a shopper sees in a market depends on which catalogs apply to it.

Because each market also prices in its own currency, the comparison reads best as a list of price points per market, not a simple subtraction from the default price.

How Report Pundit fills the gap

A comparison like this needs variant data and market pricing combined into one table, which is why it is usually built outside the Shopify admin. Report Pundit builds reports like this for stores that use Shopify Markets. Each catalog variant appears as a row, with its default price and its price in every market shown side by side, so the full price spread across markets is visible in one view.
